DragonMart Hosts Chinese Women’s Cultural Event
Nakheel Retail’s DragonMart is hosting a special month of weekend festivities to celebrate Chinese Women’s Culture, in partnership with the Chinese Women’s Business Association (CWBA). The celebrations run from Thursday through Saturday for four weeks in July, starting July 2.
First up is Fitness Week ( July 2-4) with Thai Chi demonstrations; next come the delectable delights of dumpling making and tea drinking (dim sum and yum cha) in Cooking Week ( July 9-11); Cultural Week ( July 16-18) celebrates the ancient art of Chinese tea ceremonies and the traditional Chinese stringed instrument Gu Zheng. The events come to a close with the good vibrations of Drumming Week ( July 23-25) and its traditional Chinese drumming classes.
Demonstrations and displays are taking place at the Atrium - main entrance of DragonMart. There will be 3 shows daily: at 5pm, 7 pm and 9 pm. Throughout the event, a selection of stalls and merchandise from members of the CWBA will be on display for sale at the complex. The event was officially opened by Madam Zhang Yu Xiang, wife of the Consul General of China.
Operated by Nakheel Retail and built in the shape of a giant dragon, the 1.2km long complex, DragonMart, is the largest commercial centre for Chinese products outside the Chinese mainland. The complex currently offers more than 3,900 retail outlets within 187,000 square metres of retail and commercial space.
